These are my three favorite pieces, i’ll tell you why.
Charcoal figure drawing
This piece I drew in my senior year at Kearney High. I drew this based off of a magazine advertisement that I had to choose from a pile of photos. This project taught me how to measure and enlarge for artwork. This piece of artwork was about two feet long. I was taught how to use charcoal in this project because that’s all we were allowed to use. It by far my favorite piece EVER, but sadly my teacher lost it so all I have is this picture of it….
Lettering Portrait
I completed this one my first semester at UNK. I chose this piece because it’s something I’ve never done before. It’s so unique and interesting, that’s why I love it. In this project I got my first time using a grid. I had to put a grid on this paper and on the image I chose and then draw block by block until everything was basically outlined then I went in heavy.
Pastel still life
This piece I’m currently working on in my drawing 2 class. This class, not even the artwork, just this class has taught me so much. I have improved so much by just being in this class it astounds me. I’ve learned so much, how to blend colored pastels correctly. How to mix colors together and make them look correct. I’ve also learned that you can’t use a color that comes out of the box you have to use several different colors to make the correct color.
